Entry Hall Floor Part 2

I recently ripped out the tile floor from my entry hall, and prepped it for my new wood floor.

The wood we used was a pre-finished acacia from Lumber Liquidators.  For those who may be interested in all the technical specs of the wood and floor, here are some details:

  • Botanical Name: Acacia Decurrens
  • Janka Rating: 2250
  • AC Rating: N/A
  • Width: 3 5/8″
  • Thickness: 3/4″
  • Construction: Solid
  • Hardness Rating: 74% harder than Red Oak

My brother came over to help with the racking process, then I rented a nailer and finished the install.  The entire install process took the better part of a Saturday for me to complete – but someone who had any idea what they were doing could complete it much faster.

The floor is gorgeous, and we are very happy with the results.  Here are a few pictures of the installation process:
