I like to pretend that I know a little something about woodworking, and occasionally even try to build something that won’t be condemned by the urban housing authority.  Since it is nearing Halloween and all, I thought it was amusing to see a new story pop up on wikihow about how to make your own coffin.

My morbid curiosity forced me to click the link, and discovered that it’s really plans for building a party-style coffin – you know, the kind you can use for a table centerpiece: something to fill with appetizers, undead kids, or creepie crawlies (possibly all at the same time) for your very own halloween bash.

The plans look really simple to slap together, and if I ever find time to actually get my workshop put together in my new house, I may actually try to build one to hide in on our porch for halloween.

Or, if it is too cold, there are lots of other things I can do with an extra coffin.  From the article:

"This coffin can easily be made into a bookcase with the addition of shelves. See the source page listed below for specific instructions."

Christine wants some bookcases built for some nooks in our new house.  I think this may be just the thing!

Here’s the wikihow article.
